As part of ambitious plans for 2021 we are recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineering Manager.

The candidate:

We are looking for an experienced individual with prior experience in implementing process and quality improvement. Ideally this person will demonstrate a strong working knowledge and have experience in implementing lean six sigma within an environment that might include production, fabrication, warehousing and pick and pack.You must have a good understanding of managing ISO 9001 quality systems within a multi-disciplined business. You will be tasked with developing our quality processes and working practices to ensure that product quality expectations are continually improved.

As this is a temporary contract of 9-12 months you should have the character and level of experience to confidently hit the ground running. The role will require a strong character with excellent problem-solving skills and common sense in abundance. You must be a team player, yet happy to work on your own initiative.

You will need to demonstrate the following characteristics;

• An accurate and flexible approach to all matters.
• Good administration and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
• A consultative approach to implementing change.
• Confidence, honesty, integrity and flexibility.
• A strong communicator.

And the following priorities;

• A total focus on Quality, Cost and Delivery.
• Researching new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency.
• Identify and resolve issues and implement continuous improvement activities.
• Improve on our quality assurance functions for product design, testing, verification, planning and reporting.

And Skills;

• Quality Engineering experience within an engineering or manufacturing / production environment.
• Production and Planning Management experience.
• Understanding of Stock Management Systems.
• Management of inspection activities for goods inwards and final product release.
• Practical experience working with and implementing ISO9001:2015 policies.
• Internal auditing experience.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Any previous knowledge of Sage 200 would be advantageous but not required.

This is an on-site role and the candidate will be expected to work at our head office in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. We are a COVID-19 safe work place.
